Sharlston/Warmfield St Luke's Baptism - FREEMAN
« on: Wednesday 22 March 17 08:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I'm looking for the baptism of Annie FREEMAN who was buried on 7 Nov 1918 at St Luke's, aged 22 months, so born around Jan 1917.  I have been unable to find her birth registration, so can't work out who her parents are. The address on her burial record is 6 Long Row New Sharlston, where other members of the FREEMANs in my family lived.
If anyone has access to the baptism records, I would be very grateful if you could look to see if she was baptised at St Luke's, the date and who her parents were.
Thank you very much in advance.
Victoria

Hi rosie99,

Thank you for the suggestion.  I could try that if we manage to get cheaper access to BMD certificates!
If anyone is thinking of visiting the Wakefield Archives, I'd appreciate any details about the baptism if you are able to look.  Thank you.

Using the new GRO facility, there is a birth registration for Muriel ANNIE Freeman - Wakefield - December quarter 1916 - mother's maiden name is Robertshaw.

From FreeBMD, a possible marriage - December quarter 1915 - Dewsbury Registration District = Wilmot Freeman and Ada Robertshaw.

PDF Pilot Phase 3
We are trialling a service from 16 March to provide PDF copies of our non-digitised records. Records will not be immediately viewable, but emailed as a PDF.

Applications for each PDF cost £8, must be made online and include a GRO index reference.

England and Wales records which are available as PDF's in pilot 3 include:
Births: 1935-2006
Deaths: 1958-2006
Marriages: 1837-2010

Note: A PDF is not a certificate and has no value for services where a certificate is required e.g. a Passport or Driving Licence application, or Notice of Marriage

Pilot phase 3 closes at 4pm on 12 April or when 40,000 PDF's have been ordered, whichever is sooner. Analysis of the pilot will then follow.

Another child - Harold Freeman - Wakefield Registration District - 1920 with mmn = Robertshaw.

BUT that's not the family I'm afraid - they're all alive in 1939  :-X  Sorry  :'(

Also buried on the same day, same address and in the same grave as Annie - Harold Freeman aged 24.

Added:  9 January 1926, aged 71 years - Jane Freeman of 6 Long Row, New Sharlston - so same address and same grave number.

There is a baptism at St Luke of Harold Freeman, son of John William (Miner) and Jane Freeman of New Sharlston on 14 November 1894, born 19 October 1894.
