CHESHIRE, NANTWICH, LOOKUP HELP PLEASE
« on: Wednesday 22 March 17 09:23 GMT (UK) »
I have an 1846 marriage record for Anne Moulton, born 1824 in Nantwich, Cheshire, to father Joseph, cordwainer.  I can locate a marriage record for Joseph Moulton to Hannah Whittingham on 2 Dec 1821 so that would fit ok.  From there, I’m going round and round trying to determine the father of Joseph.  The 1841 and 1851 census records indicate that Joseph was 10-12 years older than Hannah born (I think) abt 1800.
I can locate a marriage between a Joseph Moulton and Margaret Johnson in 1784 so this would fit, but the only birth record I can locate for a Joseph born abt 1790 states parents as John Moulton, wife Jane but that marriage appears to be 1797.
It would be great if someone could please help lookup this record, or direct me to the best source.... Cheshire Records Office or a Parish?  I live outside the UK so cannot get there myself.
Thanks,
PippaR

There is a baptism for Joseph, son of Joseph and Margaret - 17 October 1790 at Acton (near Nantwich).  Parents said to be of Hurleston.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

BUT, there's another baptism - Nantwich - 18 July 1797 - Joseph son of Joseph and Margaret.  Joseph is a Labourer.  :-\

I can't see a burial for Joseph (Junior) between 1790 and 1797.
