Busby Hastings
« on: Wednesday 22 March 17 19:14 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor, Jane Busby Hastings, died 1850+ after immigration to Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, in 1850.
She was married at Ballyalbany Presbyterian Church.
2 April 1846
John Heasty (Hastings)(shoemaker) of Eden Island m. Jane Busby (19) of Belfast - witnessed by James Heasty (Hasting) & John Busby -
Rev J Rankin
John Hastings remarried and had another child by 1859.
I cannot find a record of Jane's death in Pennsylvania. It is possible that she died giving birth to my 2nd Great-Grandfather, Robert John Hastings, in 1852.
Would it be possible that news of her death could be found back home in Monaghan since it may have occured so soon after immigration?  I have already checked the Northern Standard newspaper.
I know it is a long shot to ask this but I feel that it is worth a try. 😌
Thanks, Carol

Most likely not... the N Standard would have been the paper!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.
