John FOWLER 1918

Looking for any other information on John FOWLER  died 1st August 1918. France

He was 32 years old and married . He was in the 34th Regiment Pte No. 119208.

Any information will be very much appreciated.

Looks like a newly commemorated soldier on CWGC he was in the MGC (Machine Gun Corps)

Looked at medal roll he is a post 1916 deployment overseas awarded British War and Victory Medal its annotated on roll KIA August 1918
Born Govan enlisted Glasgow ...originally Royal Scots fusiliers

That doesn't appear to be John's parents - his parents were Daniel Fowler & Jane Gordon FOWLER(FLEMING) John is on the 1901 census

1901 census address 24.Adelphi Street Bridgeton Glasgow
Daniel Fowler age 37 occupation now Hill clerk
Jane G F Fowler age 37
William F Fowler age 12 .John W Fowler age 9, Jessie McD Fowler 7, Catherine F Fowler 4

Also looks as if John named his daughter Jane after his mother.

Or, someone has put it on Ancestry ( where I found it) and it's wrong
