Palmer Family, Uplands, Swansea

I am looking for info on the Palmer family that had a grocers' shop on Bernard Street in Uplands. I am particularly interested in Henry Ernest Palmer who lived there in the 1960's. His mother was my great aunt Florence who died in 1960.

Thanks so much. I am particularly interested if he married and had children, as I am sure someone would remember the grocers' shop he kept. I can find only bits of info from the 1950's and 60's.

Possible marriage for your Henry Earnest Palmer 1949 4Q Swansea to Lilian Earle. You would have to buy the Marriage Certificate to see if it is the same Ernest you are looking for.

There are no children showing up on the Birth index for Palmer with mother maiden name Earle, Sorry.

I have seen the Lilian Earle marriage on BMD. I am assuming her death was that reported in BMD in 1965, aged 71, which would put her DOB at 1894. That's quite a bit older than Henry, so she may have been a widow. She would also be 55 when she married Henry and probably too old for children. I wonder if she had kids from a previous marriage?

I would have thought there are people around today that would remember his grocer's shop, as he was still there in 1961 according to Ancestry's phone book records. He died in 1998 at the ripe old age of 89.

I might have to fork out for the marriage certificate!

I have traced Henry's sister, Irene Janet Palmer, b. 1915. She married Idwal Williams (Policeman) in 1944. Again, finding children is difficult with a name like Williams.
