That's very kind of you Caroline.

I'm interested to try and find whether they have the Logbooks of the Steam Ship 'John Sanderson'. (My Father served as an Apprentice Seaman on that ship in 1912). I will do some research and try to ascertain whether the NA holds them. (They might be in Newfoundland).

I was able to find some Logbooks for HMS 'Orcoma' at the NA when I last visited; which mentioned my late Father.

Crew agreements are catalogued in most cases by the ships official number. JOHN SANDERSON had the O/N 95284 Her 1912 Crew Agreements are available from here.

Many Thanks Seaweed.

If I'm interpreting it correctly, - E2 = No Official Log Present.

And so there won't be anything on the SS 'John Sanderson' at The National Archives.

Hi Caroline
What a kind offer.

I'm not sure if this counts as 'look ups', but I have a couple of documents I'd love to see. I'd love to visit, but not possible from New Zealand I fear.

Are you able/willing to do photographs? I'm more than happy to pay for the photograph permit for the day if there is one, as at most Record Offices, but I see it is free at TNA! (Just checked). Gosh.

These are the ref numbers.
STAC 7/3/12 - Records of the Court of Star Chamber 1558 - 1603
Robert Hyde v Thomas Hide alias Ward re forgery of feoffment.
(My ancestor was the Thomas Hide alias Ward - I wonder what he was up to!)

C 6/296/100 - Court of Chancery 1664
Hambleton v Hambleton

It would be great if I could get photographs. I'll send you my email if you do manage to get them.
Hope that's ok.
Many thanks indeed

Cochran, Nicol, Paton, Bruce:Scotland. Bertolle:London

Hi goldie61

That's fine I aim to take my iPad& phone with me so happy to take pics if there are some available.
If I'm successful I'll send you a pm and then we can sort out email details.
You certainly won't get to see those from NZ!
Speak to you on my return

Hello Caroline.
 A very kind offer.
I have been doing a little research for another roots chatter.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=766362.0

If you have time, could you look at the last 1946 Crew Agreement of the vessel MACCLESFIELD O/N 136014
http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C11079964

What I am looking for is the Next of Kin of  Horace Thomas Vincent
He was an engineer on MACCLESFIELD which was a home trade ship. Crew Agreements of home trade ships tend to be not as comprehensive as foreign going vessels, so the Next of Kin may not be noted. We can but look.

Thanks for your help.

Hello seaweed

I will do my best to get the information for you. I already have six advanced orders but will put a request in for yours as soon as I get there.

My daughters coming with me so two sets of eyes should help!
Will be in touch on my return.
