That type of info is not available online but if you ring Beckett St and give them the dates they may be able to tell you.

I'm hazarding a guess they are in public graves in which case they will definitely not be in the same grave given the 8yr gap between their deaths

No, they weren't. As Carole said, they looked like public graves with about 8 people buried in each. I haven't got the page open in front of me now, but from memory, one of them might have had two people with the same surname (not Ireland), but there was no obvious connection between the others.

Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Thanks for that information Arthurk, I don't mean to sound ignorant but were public graves for people who,s family couldn't afford to bury them ?

Yes, but at Beckett Street there were also a number of other kinds of multiple occupancy graves, such as "guinea graves" where people paid their guinea and the grave was marked with a stone bearing the names of all those buried there. From Carole's use of "public" I understood her to mean multiple occupancy, without it necessarily being at public expense.

You can read more about the types of grave there on the cemetery Friends' website, in the FAQs:
http://www.beckettstreetcemetery.org.uk/faq.php
The headings below the picture expand to give further infomation.

For the Ireland children, I don't know enough to be able to say which type of grave it was. It might be possible to work it out from the plot number or some of the documentation, or maybe the Friends could advise. There's also a forum at Yorkshire Indexers with knowledgeable people who may be able to help too.

To walk between Harehills Cemetery and Beckett Street Cemetery (opposite St James Hospital) is about a 10min walk.
