Thank you,I will do that...I appreciate your help... :)

Have just tried what you suggested keyboard86,and they offer it free for 14 days...when filling in info for payments I'm afraid I can't do that,as I don't want to join Ancestry,as I'm on Genes Reunited with my trees...and being an old lady now and on a small pension,it's a no no for me...Sorry,any other help would be useful though,if poss... :-[

For the censuses you really need access to one of the pay per view sites although I believe the 1881 is free to view or you can access find my past and ancestry at your local library for free usually.

The 1901 census shows the family at 9 William Street, Brighton as below:
John Fawcett Hd age 32 General Hawker born South Hackney, Middlesex  so born about 1869
Mary Fawcett Wife 30 born Deptford, Kent so born about 1871
John Fawcett Son 7 born Brighton so born about 1894
Mary Fawcett Dau 5 born Brighton so born about 1896
RG13/921/67/25

One generally always works backward from what you know so the best route is now to look for the 1891 census when John & Mary would be together and then each individually in the earlier censuses, when at some point hopefully you will find them with their parents which will take you another generation back.

Bond - Berkshire & London
Bishop - Sussex & Kent
Holland - Essex
Nevitt - Cheshire & Staffordshire
Wray - Yorkshire

Many libraries have free access to either Ancestry or FindMyPast?
Mine allows me 2 hours computer access per day, including Ancestry Library Edition.

Free sites worth looking at include:
FreeBMD.org.uk
FamilySearch.org
FreeReg
FreeCen
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)
