:) Any thoughts Matt, see you were online tonight about the time of my last post, have you possibly thought of purchasing the marriage or birth certificate of William Edward Brock to ascertain who at least his father was?

Hi Keyboard,

Thanks for your efforts there! I suspect some payments may be needed.

I've had a look through the 1901 census results and learned William Edward had a sister Harriet which should help somewhere along the line.

I can be certain I have him in the 1911, 1901 and 1891 census but before that the trail is not certain just yet - I think you are right about the Every/Hambly link and if the father Edward Brock died in 1870 that would eliminate a link...

I'll be back on this one soon!

How long does it typically take to get a birth certificate?

Thanks Keyboard.

Matt

Hi again Matt, personally I would obtain the marriage certificate of William Edward as you know the facts/children of this marriage?

Mary ANN Hambly Full Age address 31, Treville Street Father William Hambly occ Labourer

Thanks again. Not such a useful clue about Harriet but I am aware of the two daughters William Edward Brock had and an infant son that died.

The wedding certificate wil presumably have names for both fathers so should provide extra info to go on with...

I ordered the wedding certificate for William Edward Brock and Mary Jane Saunders. This indicates that the father of William Edward is also William Edward Brock but deceased. It turns out he was a blacksmith...

Hi again,  ok so as to gain more information on the certificate who was the father of Mary Jane Saunders and any witnesses that may offer clues?

EDIT Edward Brock who married Mary Jane Every/Avery was a Blacksmith, so reason for my concern if I have located correct parents of William H?
