I have found that William McVitie was involved in a court case in the Island of Grenada on the 7th June 1825 brought by a Simon Simpson and judgement was awarded against him for costs of £500 and in addition a further £3624 in damages. Unfortunately I do not have details of the action and would welcome information on this case.
