David Grey m. Elizabeth King 1842 in Ayton
« on: Wednesday 29 March 17 01:31 BST (UK) »
Hello Rootschatters! I am hoping someone may be able to help me put a few more pieces into a family puzzle. David Grey, s. of William Grey and Christina Geggie married Elizabeth King on 11 Dec 1842 in Ayton, Berwickshire.  Sadly, I know nothing of Elizabeth's parents.  Does anyone have the ability to access this marriage record and tell me who is listed as Elizabeth's parents?  I am currently under the assumption that all parties mentioned were born in Berwickshire.  Thank you kindly for any information on my elusive Elizabeth King! Most sincerely, patrexjax

The marriage is viewable on Scotlands People but at the time no parents were listed on the church records.  The only detail given is that Elizabeth was from the parish of Bunkle??

There is an Elizabeth King age 23 living in Bunkle in 1841 with parents??  Charles and Janet plus a poss child Charles

Kay

Added -There is a marriage on Scotlands People of a Charles King to Janet Sligh on 30 July 1798 in Duns Parish??

Census-

Looks like Elizabeth died in Eyemouth Berwick , 1888 ,
Elizabeth Gray(or King) , age 75 , 739/ 37.

The death certificate should name her parents.

Hello kay99 and ev.  Yes, I am certain you have the correct family. I did  not know that the death certificate would list her parents, as Ihave very little experience with Scottish records. Thank you so much for that information.  Sincerely, patrexjax
