I don't know what sources you've used, but here are some good places to look.

They have several of their volumes online. The most useful for the 16th century are:

Subsidy roll for 1524
Certificate of Musters in 1522

There seem to have been a few, mainly with the spellings Horwode or Horwod, sometimes Horwood.

These are indices of Common Pleas court cases. I haven't searched all of them, but there was a Henry Horwode of Aylesbury, husbandman, in 1544.

These together would give a good idea of where they lived in Bucks at that time.

Description: Indenture between Christofer Horwod and William Adkyns being covenants for the peaceable possession of a messuage, stable, lands and appurtenances in Aylesbury [co. Buckingham].

Date: 3 December, 3 & 4 Philip & Mary 1556
