Sarah Trimby (?) Wife Of Henry Warren, Married 1804 in Cheadle
« on: Wednesday 29 March 17 22:44 BST (UK) »
Hello There,

The above person was one of my 5X Great Grandparents.
According to "Family Search" Sarah Trimby Married Henry Warren (1778-1846) on the 25th of June 1804, in Cheadle. It is transcribed as Trimby on Family Search, anyway.
But I cannot seem to find a Baptism record for Sarah anywhere. I know that she may have been born around 1784 though: This was her date, and place of birth put down on the 1851 Census. In that Census she is transcribed as; "Warrens" on Family Search. She is there at the home of one of her sons, Davenport Warren , transcribed: "Devonport Warrens" born around 1819 in Stockport.

Sarah was buried in 1855 in Stockport.

If anyone has any information regarding the baptism of Sarah, it would be very much appreciated.

Thankyou. :) ;)

Is this her death registration?

Oh well, sorry I must have made a mistake with that one then haha!
But I do know that Sarah was not around in the 1861 Census though. On the 1851 Census, her date of birth is down as 1784 in Stockport. There is a death entry on Find My Past for a Sarah Warren: "N Cheshire Memorial Inscriptions". This Sarah was buried in 1858. But her date of birth on there is down as 1768. I can't see what it says because I don't subscribe to Find My Past.  :)

Methodist Chapel, Rainow - May 1858 (no date) - Sarah Warren aged 90.

Added:  GRO new facility gives her age as 91 - June quarter, Macclesfield District

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

There is no sign of Sarah's baptism via BT's, parish records or the currently available non-conformist registers for Cheshire.

so that tells us Henry could write and Sarah couldn't - both lived in Cheadle Parish and both were at least 21 - married by Banns ......so Sarah was born 1783 or earlier....BUT it doesn't say Spinster or Widow for Sarah - I am wondering if her name Trimby was a previously married name.
the 90 yr old Sarah Warren would have been born 1758 period - too early I think UNLESS she had already been married ?? and was around 45 when she married Henry - let me look for children on the same site

There is another marriage at Cheadle St Mary for  Ann Trimby to James Albeston  21 May 1820
The witness to this marriage is Henry Warren, Ann could possibly be a sister.

On the 1861 census there is a Davenport Warren 48
Ann Warren not sure if its 51 or 57
Sarah Warren 80 born "Bath"
They are living North Street Manchester.

I have found Davenport and sister Maria in Stockport Sunday School register Maria in 1811 register and Davenport in 1831 register - so it looks like Henry and Sarah were having children from 1804 - 1825 ish   - so the 90 yr old Sarah Warren death is not your Sarah
are these the children
Maria baptised 26th dec 1804 - Stockport
Mary bap 11th feb 1807 Stockport
John bap 19th feb 1809 Stockport
Henry / Mary Ann bap 12th Nov  1815 Stockport 6 yr gap between John and these 2 - so although they look like twins they could have been born separate years but baptised together
James bap 20 july 1823
Davenport was in Sunday school register in 1831 - what year was he born in the 1851 census ?

all the above children are children of Henry and Sarah Warren - I don't know whether there were 2 couples of that name in Stockport at the time - but it was not unusual for couples to have children over a 25 yr span .
so looking at those children I wouldn't have thought Sarah had been married before - have you looked under Trimble surname ?
.....................................................
is this too far away ??  and too early ??
