There's a list of resources on Inverness board (as with all boards on RC) which are specific to your areas of research;

Some of the ones I use although there's 100's depending on what/where you're researching.

Try Scotlands People

Roderick Boa STUART - M - 1926 - 098/A 100 - Inverness

Sandra

The birth certificate of Roderick would be most important purchase - you may get lots of other clues from that. Stuart/Stewart would be a very popular name to start searching.  If the birth certificate gives you an address that would be most helpful.

It does look like this one birth could have been registered in 2 different areas.

STUART
RODERICK BOA
M
1926
098/A 100
Inverness

STUART
RODERICK BOA
M
1926
072/ 3
Kintail ( Ross and Cromarty)

Does anyone know if the father's name was Stuart and the mother's name Boa ?
I'm inclined to think that Stuart was the father's last name.

If Stuart was the paternal name, the father should be listed in the birth cert or an RCE  would be issued to add one

I cannot find a marriage for any Christina "Stuart" in either Ross and Cromarty or Invernesshire between 1926 and 1939.
All other marriges for women with this name were in Aberdeenshire, Lanarkshire and East Lothian

There is a potential marriage in exactly the same area as the 1926 birth registration

Christina Mary Boa who married  Kenneth Mackay in 1929 Kintail, Ross and Cromarty

It was quite regular in that era. If a child was born away from the parents' home, then the birth would be registered in the district where that took place, and then transcribed in the 'home' district.

The Boa family were mentioned on a previous thread - maybe the poster can update us if anything materialised with the great-grand-daughter on that thread.

I am actually guessing that the mother's maiden name was Boa.
Unless Natasha knows for certain that it was Stuart.

Regardless, the only way to be completely sure is to obtain a copy of Roderick's birth cert.
Unfortunately it's not avalable online and would need to be ordered directly from SP.

You guys are honestly amazing! This information is so good and I am so grateful for it! :)

I'm going to take this on board and get searching!

I'm not 100% sure if Stuart is the legitamate name or if the spelling had been changed or even if it is Boa

Thank you again,

Natasha
