Emma HARGRAVE born 1817 Westminster
« on: Thursday 30 March 17 21:22 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on the above person. She was born at Westminster in 1817 and baptised at St Margaret's Westminster in 1819.

I cannot find her in the 1841 census.  In 1851 she is unmarried and living with her brother Ben (Benjamin Joseph) and mother Sarah at Little George Street in the parish of St Luke Chelsea.

Her mother Sarah dies in 1858. There are possible marriage and death records for Benjamin but I cannot find any further record of Emma.

Among the 22 inhabitants:
Hargraves, Emma  F  20
I would need more information in order to confirm that this is the Emma that I am looking for.

The age of this Emma is about right as the ages were rounded down. She is living in an institution of some sort with a James HARGRAVES. As the relationship is not shown James could be another brother or a husband.

On the balance of probability this Emma is unlikely to be the correct Emma. Her parent's were alive and living in Little George Street in 1841 and she was living at this address with her mother and brother in 1851.

I know from the 1851 census that she is alive and living in the parish of St Luke but what about after this time. Possibly she married or was living somewhere with other family members or possibly she had died. I only know of the three siblings but is it possible that there were others?

Who was her father?

Have you checked for other births for that set of parents?

A definite possibility but without an age it is a bit hard to tell.
