There are articles here about Charter & Violet's divorce - http://www.rootschat.com/links/01jue/   I don't have a subscription, but from the snippets, it looks like she filed for divorce as of April 1938 and the divorce was granted by 7 Jul. 1938.

I don't have a subscription either but, the snippet seems to indicate she was deserted by him. Interesting!

Hi  Katharine,

After all of this  Violet went back to the surname Lytle and died in 1954.

Somewhere along the line her age got adjusted. Death record obit say 1873, 1911 census says 1882 and 1930/1940 census says 1885.

Mrs. Violet Elbra Lytle

Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Elbra Lytle 81, A Seattle resident  50 years, will be held at 10:30 oclock Saturday at the Home Undertaking Co. Burial will be in Forest lawn.

Mrs. Lytle died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Grace Roberts, 1906 26th Av. N., with with whom she resided many years.

 Born in Australia, Mrs. Lytle resided in Vancouver, B.C., ten years before coming to Seattle.
In addition to Mrs. Roberts, survivors are three other daughters, Mrs. C.J. Joslin, Mrs. Frank Caparello and Mrs Daisy Rinehart, and a son, Roy Lytle, all Seattle, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Thanks RJ137. I did have all those snippets of information already, except for 1940 census. Which is why I found it suprising she had the marriage to Kaup and Favasule. Having died under the name Lytle, I assumed he was the last husband! And yes there is a discrepency in her age- but I am quite sure she was born late 1875, or early 1876.
