HMS/M Vandal
« on: Friday 31 March 17 12:35 BST (UK) »
On a recent visit to Arran I saw the memorial to the men lost with HMS/M Vandal off Lochranza in 1943. Can someone educate me as to what HMS/M stood for?
Many thanks,
Baird

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe

Sandra and MaxD,
                           many thanks for the info.
Sandra I was totally ignorant of that abbreviation. Terrible when I had a Great uncle who served in the R.N. for over 40 years and served on K Class Submarines in WW1.

Max, many thanks for the lead to the video. Extremely interesting and I am grateful.

Thank you both,

Baird
