Henry BRADBEE, born c1835 Middlesex
« on: Friday 31 March 17 16:09 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Henry BRADBEE, a Roman Catholic born 1835 Middlesex, was discharged early on licence from Parkhurst Prison on 28/08/1855..........from this point onwards I can find no reference to him EXCEPT the 1891 England Census has an entry for a Catholic Priest Henry BRADBEE, resident in Acton, and born Middlesex 1837.   Could this be the same person ??? ???

The only family details I have are that on leaving prison he went to an unnamed Aunt in London and his prison records state he had an unnamed brother living in 1 Barrets Court, Oxford Street.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

jj,

Sorry, the sum total of my knowledge, except for the nature of his crime and prison record, is as described.    I reviewed the entries for Henry Thomas BRADBEE, born 1814, just in case he was the father.........unlikely.

If you have a look at the 1851 HO107 Piece 1488 Folio 21 Page 35, there is a family O'Connor/Connor
living at 1 Barratts Court.

His Aunt is recorded  as Mrs Connor 1 Barratts Court, Oxford Street, London.

In the 1860's this gentleman was in Australia.
There are lots of mentions on the Trove website.

If it is the same person who was released on licence in 1855 he didn't waste any time, because according to another article on Trove he was ordained priest in 1859

1851 for the Bradbee family living in the parish of St James' Westminster. On Henry's prison records it states that his abode was St James' London.

Henry Tho Bradbee   37
Margarett Bradbee   42
Helen Bradbee   12
Charles Bradbee   8
Mary Bradbee   5
Joseph Bradbee   3
John Bradbee   4 Mo

HO107 Piece 1483 Folio 242 Page 9, Berwick Street, St James Westminster

Can't see them on the 1841, it would appear that Berwick Street in missing from that census.
