This may be a bit of a red herring but could the priest have got William's surname wrong
William Malley Cartoon to Ellen Crowe 1889

Her father matches the John Crowe marriage I think, don't always trust my eyes.

Glad to have been of help. I've never ordered an Irish death certificate,,,but I'm sure it must be possible.
