Jonathon and Priscilla Taylor (nee Forman)...circa 1728/1732
« on: Sunday 02 April 17 15:48 BST (UK) »
Hello

After 3 years of not looking for information I've moved back home to Lincolnshire and have become interested in the family history again. I have got as far back along my Taylor line to Jonathon and Priscilla Taylor and have hit a brick wall. Both were born around the Boston area around the time mentioned above. I do know they married on 15 November 1758 in Boston. I have found 6 children for them all baptised in Kirton-in-Holland between 1756 and 1771. Does anyone have these in their family tree or have information on who Jonathon or Priscilla's parents might be?

Thank you in advance

Melanie

They actually married in 1753.

At the time of their marriage in Boston, they were "both of the parish of Kirton".

How do you know "Both were born around the Boston area"?

I'm surprised you haven't looked at the IGI -

I did my original searches about 4 years ago so am not really sure where I got born in the Boston area from.

I've now found Priscilla on Ancestry and have a baptism for her on 13 Jan 1730 and parents John and Martha. Also possible parents for John of Edward and Jane.

Its possible I could have written date wrong for their marriage but I do have 15 November which I believe I got from parish records.

Not sure about the St Botolph link for Jonathon but definitely a possibility.

Thank you

How would I find out if John and Martha had anymore children? I've found a marriage for a John Forman and a Martha Kitchen but in Bardney in 1721....only marriage I can find in Lincs around that time between a John Forman and Martha.

There was actually another one ... to a Martha GREGSON 15 June 1721 at Kirton

(It is on FreeREG, but with no further detail.)

I think i may have found another possible for the parents of Jonathon....there is a John Taylor baptised on 20 Jan 1721 in Kirton in Holland....OK the dates are a little out and the name is John instead of Jonathon BUT the area is right. Parents are Wm (William?) and Phebe Taylor. Could fid one other sibling...William baptised 11 March 1716
