I looked for a marriage did'nt find one nor any siblings,it is possible that there were others born before civil registration started in 1864 and the marriage possibly as well.
What parish did you find the baptism in ?

On census, James smyth birth place is laytown ireland

I found docs with Catherine bones...wondered if they can't read and write, they wouldn't know if they'd been written wrong...does boden sound like bones in Irish accent???..might be a silly question but am trying to think of everything 😳😳😳

Hi,
If you look on the Catholic registers online at the nli, the mothers name for James Smyth is Catherine Bones. I think there are several children for this couple in Stamullen and earlier in Balbriggan and St Mary's Drogheda.
