Lamport/Lampert 1841
« on: Tuesday 04 April 17 10:04 BST (UK) »
According to Free Reg Mary Lamport was buried at High Ham on 11July 1841, aged 69, and James Lamport was buried there on 29 July 1844, aged 74.

It is possible that they were husband and wife and people in whom I might have an interest but a I cannot trace them in 1841 to test my theory. Can anyone see something I am missing?

Closest couple in High Ham 1841 are James Hew 70 Mary Hew 70  :-\

Looking at the original it might not be Hew but it doesn't look like the surname you want sadly.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Thanks, Bookbox, that looks very interesting, although I cannot make any  immediate connection with my family but it gives me something more to work on. Free Cen provides no entries for Lamport or variation, but multiple Langports in 1841.

James Lamport, when he died in 1844 was apparently living at Balleigh, High Ham. Perhaps he went to live with relatives after Mary died.
