So it does look like he sailed off then doesn't it and Catherine had a different unknown father  :-\

If he wasn't named on the birth despite using the Lusardi name then probably never going to find out.

If Catherine married I wonder if she named a father then?

One of the workhouse entries has "alias Parker" for Ellen and in the Married column for her and daughter it says "h.s.d"  I wonder what that meant?!

On family search there is a Peter Lasardi on the 1910 US census age 39 single lodger born Italy
date of immigration 1906

And I think it says for occupation waiter in a restaurant - could that be him??

Catherine emigrated to the US and never married.  I don't know what h.s.d could mean but I'll have a think.  And I think that could be him!  Oh my goodness!  Where do you think I can go from here?  It would be simply amazing for my dad if I've found his grandfather!

I'm not finding anything else - yet and have to log off now but will have another look later :)

Keep looking in the US on family search and you might find him on a later census.  He could be lodging with the same family or I suppose he could even have gone back to Italy.  Many possibilities!
