It was the Australia info that was the problem.  I didn't know we had close  Weatherby,s in Australia 

A scandal in the family had George Weatherby.s mother Frances disappear to Newcastle Australia
in 1884 and her son George with wife Dorothy ann went Australia 1912 so at least 1 son was able to see his mother before she died 1914

I think this is engagement of Tom and Eva's daughter.   Although the report says daughter of J Wilson, it gives the correct street address.   And if you check the marriage in 1947 on NSW BDM you can see her middle name matches her mother's name.

Lots of mentions on TROVE, especially in the Lithgow Mercury.  Many of them are about George Smith WEATHERBY, and Harold WEATHERBY.

thanks everyone for the help.
I,ve not dealt with Australian ancestry before. I was stuck with greatgrgrandmother Frances Weatherby as she lived 1881 Newcastle Northumberland England so expected her death to be local to me not Newcastle New south Wales Australia.
Harold Wilson weatherby and Evelyn Appleton weatherby were my grandmothers cousins
