William Dyer D 3919 4th Dragoon Guards original enlistment

William Dyer born Broughton Hampshire 1888,unable to find details of his original enlistment to 4 th Dragoon Guards.
He appears as a Soldier Valet 1911 Woolwich Blackheath London to a Capt Charles Tailayson.
There are re enlistment records [new no] 3174 at age 30 years at Chantill.with discharge 12 Feb 1923
But unable to find original enlistment,can anyone with more info on these type of records please have a look Thank you.

Should have put,1911 William Dyer soldier born Broughton Hampshire valet for Captain Charles Tailayson Hunter 4 th Dragoon Guards at Elmcote  Kidbrooke Grove Blackheath London. 
Hunter family then from Glenapp Castle, Ayrshire.

As he was in service post 1920 his records ( 2nd. enlistment) will be with the MOD.
There may be amongst it reference to his 1st. enlistment.
His record can be obtained, however you need to provide a death cert. & £30.

What's concerning me at the moment is this;

There are re enlistment records [new no] 3174 at age 30 years

meaning this was 1918 & it looks like a pre-war number (1909).
There may be an explanation somewhere.

Jim1,Many thanks for looking at my query,Military Records are not my line usually.My info came from a paid source.
He served 9 years and 154 days in 4th Dragoon Guards according to this information.

I know I have the correct guy,as his wife Frances Devoy is listed with their  marriage date 20 Aug 1920 Andover, Lance Corporal discharged C,bury 12 Feb 1923, with exemplary service.[There is info on the Irish Board re wifes origins found yesterday.]

A  good  excuse to visit Kew at a later date,Thanks again,Brionne.
