Just wanted to add that Anne Hood may have been known as Hannah also;
F/S has these Children Christened Bilston;
Harriett 1803
Edward 1806
Elizabeth 1809
Thomas 1810
Sarah 1812

(Elizas is on FreeREG, Fathers Occp Engineer)

All have Parents as John/Ann except Thomas who has Mother is Hannah
I looked as the Witness at the Marriage in France was a William Hood (Uncle?)

Aaah Ann is still alive in 1851.

1841 Census
Warwick St, Wolverhampton
John Hood, 57, Engineer

Many thanks again for help and answers. Could I pick brains a bit more on this family please. Edward, Mary, Mary Ann, Samuel and ANN appear on the 1841 census. Who is this Ann, is it the daughter of Edward and Mary or the daughter of Edwards parents John and Ann/Hannah. She marries John Rowley in 1842 Bushbury Staffs. This throws up another issue for me. Ann Rowley appears on the 1851 census with her husband John. Also in the household is a brother in law John Hood aged 22 born France. This would suggest it is Ann's brother. BUT in Kingswinford is a John Hood age 23 British subject the son of Joseph c1803 (the son of John/Anne/Hannah??) and Sarah. Do we have 2 John Hoods born in France or 1 who has been emunerated twice.

John

modify-1851 Kingswinford Hoods are transcribed as Hoock

You may need to purchase the marriage certificate of John Rowley to Ann Hood 1842, to see who she names as her father.
I'll keep looking

Update, Findmypast has the image of the marriage of John Rowley and Ann Hood. Her father was a Joseph Hood. He I believe is the son of John and Anne born c1800 and who went on to marry Sarah Winsper in 1824. Daughter Ann 1824/5 named after his mother and a son John in 1828 in France, named after his father.
