Hi Everyone,

has anyone ever had a problem with the Irishgenealogy.ie site.  I am getting an error page when I try to look at a record???

Yes, right now and the Census images on the National Archives as well, think they use the same server as they often have problems at the same time.

Thank God it's not my computer then. LOL   I have problems with Ancestry in the evening (US time).  I recon it's cause all my fellow "Ancestryists" come online in Ireland when the dinner dishes are done and everyone is tucked in bed. LOL

Thanks CC

Down since 7.30am
http://www.irishgenealogynews.com/2017/04/two-top-irish-genealogy-sites-have.html

It's not surprising I suppose this site must get over loaded.  I know I have been a constant on there since I discovered it was free.  I was paying 5 dollars a cert.  I'd  love to know how they managed to talk the GRO into making it a free site as they must have been making money hand over fist from people who could only work online.

The site is run by a Government Dept
Arts and Heritage Region Rural and Gaeltacht.
The policy of the Government seems to be to have as much genealogy records as possible free, I assume they are hoping it will lead to increased tourism, and up-keeping Ireland's friendly image for when ever or where ever that can come in handy.

Yes, looks like it's going to be down for the weekend.
I'm wondering now if the OSI mapviewer is also a victim, I can't get it to load either.

OSI MV won't open for me either.  I am not familiar with this site.  What do you use it for?  CC
