A new addition on SA Records website.   And not before time.  Images of 'assisted passenger' lists.

These official passenger lists record emigrants selected by the Colonization Commissioners, London, whose passages were paid for out of the Emigration Fund.

Hello hope every one had a good Easter Break. Well I think that Thomas GAHAGAN  ship has sailed I have just got a letter from the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide, there was no christening information for Caroline Theresa and James Alexander Gaghan born in Adelaide . Could not find any information on some of the other children were there parents came from except Galway.
But that is o.k. I really appreciate ALL the help you gave me .
So now  can  You helped me with finding  out who was   my mum's mum was  EMMA MATILDE CLARA . I know that her parents were JOHANN CARL  HEINRICH QUALLMAN AND SOPHIA MNARIA WALDHUTER
Did they come from Germany or were they born in South Australia or were there parents born in Germany ?if so how can I find out from the German side of things? Thank you Cheers Gail

Hi Gail,

sorry to hear that news.
You would be best to start a new topic now re your mum's family. I would imagine that the Australian board be best to begin with to establish dates and take it from there.

good luck

Hi Gail :)
Unfortunately South Australian certificates are scant on information.  Only the fathers of the bride and groom are detailed.

Another spelling variation of GAGHEN/AN ::)
