Jacob Myers of Bethnal Green, wife Mary Thiery Moger
« on: Saturday 08 April 17 10:06 BST (UK) »
I am curious to find out more about Jacob Myers, whom the 1851 Census states was an interpreter in Bethnal Green,  born in Warsaw, but then a British subject.
Married; 30th April 1846, Abergavenney, my cousin Mary Thierry Moger (Born 1806, East Harptree, Somerset), he a licensed hawker, his bridge a teacher.
As someone of Anglo-Polish heritage myself, I was intrigued by a further link to the land of my fathers.

I am curious to find out more about Jacob Myers

You have presumably followed him post - 1851 but was he in England in 1841?

What is his fathers name on the 1846 marriage cert?

No birthyear given in your post - 1851 shows him as 38 (1812/13)

No father given on the marriage record transcript I found on Ancestry.
He also did not appear on their 1841 Census.

I'm having problems finding any actual marriage transcript on FS - can only find this at the moment which is just a normal BMD reference.   Does the transcript you found give a fathers name for Mary?

Mary Thiery Moger's parents were Edward Moger and Nancy Moger, nee Clark - the Thiery also comes from the maternal side, of East Harptree, Somerset. She had a twin, Sarah, who also seems to have vanished. In the reference on Ancestry it stated that Mary was a teacher in the British girls school.

You said there was a transcript of the marriage on FS but that no father was shown for Jacob.  I can't find any such transcript and wonder if the FS info I posted is what you have seen??

If so - that is just the freebmd reference equivalent for ordering a copy of the cert which is what you will have to do to get his fathers name

She had a twin, Sarah

Are you sure?  Mary was born 17.5.1806 and baptised 1806.   Sarah was only baptised 29.6.1807 which suggests she was born the year after Mary.  Look on Freereg which shows a part birthdate as June

The original church transcript for these girls says
Mary Thiery born 17/05/1806
Sarah born June
Baptised together on 29/06/1807
Both daughters of Edward and Ann Moger
Looks like they were a year apart
