Seeking help on David Elliott
« on: Sunday 09 April 17 10:29 BST (UK) »
Hello All,

May Elliott, born 26 Sept 1908 (my maternal grandmother).

David Elliott  married  Mary Fullarton,  married in the district of Gorbals in the district of Burgh, Glasgow.  on 22 Nov 1906.  (Parents of May Elliott above and my great-grand parents).

Parents of David Elliott were one of the following couples 1. James Elliott and Mary McPhee or 2. David Elliott and Mary McPhail.

I am trying to trace the Elliott line but I have hit a brick wall at David Elliott - I cannot find his date or place of birth or anything else that would let me trace his line backwards.  I have checked Scotland's People, Ancestry including the Census, Births & Deaths.   The Statutory Register of Marriages does not unfortunately include the dates of birth.

If anybody has any information on David Elliott (who married Mary Fullerton in 1906),  I would be most grateful if you might post it.

Regards,

Eral.

David Elliot's marriage certificate will give the names of his parents and his age. Marriage certificates don't give a precise date of birth. You should also look for him in the 1901 and 1891 censuses.

Hi Erol ,

This could be the family -
1911 Census index Shettleston Lanark 622/2 11/7
David Elliot 23
Mary Elliot 25
May Elliot 2

Note the one "T" in the surname , the 1906 marriage also has only one "T".

Really need the marriage certificate to make further progress.
