Hi Phil,
Thanks for that, it is quite strange with the age, got to be a mis-print, born in 1888 would make him about 26 years of age or so.
Absolutely amazing, 7 sons went to war, or military in some form, 2 died in action, so so sad.

Phil,
I don't suppose you are able to give me a copy of the article written, as well too, please.
The family lived in Newbury, up until around 1896, when they moved to Warfield, and subsequently Reading after Sarah's husband Thomas Banning died in 1902.

It has touched me quite deeply, to know that all of Sarah's children went to war.  Would love to know more about the family, but need to join Find my Past.

There was no article, just a page of pictures af men serving with the 1st Bn R Berks. Published in Berkshire and the War p67. As this was a supplementary publication by the Reading Standard I suppose there may be some text in the paper, but I only have the pictures. The Reading Standard hasn't been digitised yet :(

Jebber thanks very much for that, just so interesting to find more history on this Banning family.
