Clarence Kingston SEAGRAVE (1882-November 1944)
« on: Wednesday 12 April 17 06:37 BST (UK) »
Clarence Kingston Seagrave was born in Tasmania in 1882- but he spent his working life in South Africa with the Bank of South Africa, at first in Rhodesia and Mozambique, and then in Johannesburg.  He served in France in WW 1 with the Royal Field Artillery.
Seagrave retired early 1930s. He probably went to England.  In 1938 Seagrave, 'widow', married Inez Muggridge in Melbourne Australia.
The family have no knowledge of Seagrave's first wife.  The usual searches have proved fruitless. My guess is that Seagrave married in South Africa, but ...
Might someone be able to suggest further avenues of research?

Thanks

I am sorry to be so unfamiliar with South Africa, but it IS a long way from Australia!
Might you be able to tell me how i can obtain the marriage certificate ? My attempts through Google have been less than successful.
Thanks.
