Edward Farrell and Bridget Carroll, of Trim, Co Meath
« on: Thursday 13 April 17 01:42 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone help in identifying ancestors and relatives in Ireland of the subject married couple.
Edward migrated to the USA about 1850. There was a local newspaper clipping about their 50th wedding anniversary that said Edward was born 26 November 1831 in County Meath. The Irish records show a baptismal record for an Edward Farrell 26 Nov 1831 in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland; son of Richard Farrell and Anne (Farrelly?); possibly the same man.
Have a good Easter.

Did they marry in U.S. or Ireland? Do you know where they lived in U.S.?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

The immediate help given by Dathai & Aghadowey is much appreciated and is one of the great features of RootsChat that some people are always willing to put their own time into helping others by doing research on their behalf.
In retrospect, I probably should have given more background to explain my interest in this particular family.   Recently, I undertook DNA ethnicity testing & downloaded the raw data to GEDmatch, resulting in many matches, one of whom being a descendant of Edward & Bridget Farrell, so we are trying to find the connection to my ancestors, John & Catherine Farrell from the Parish of Kilcock, in northern Co. Kildare (the subject of a previous post on RootsChat in the Kildare sub-forum).  Perhaps John is an uncle of Edward?   This is why my question sought information as to "ancestors and relatives in Ireland", rather than in the US; this is not to say that US records are not helpful, in fact the records of the deaths of Edward & Bridget could be helpful with names of parents, and a descendant in the US could even have the answer to my question.    :)
