James Alexander
« on: Friday 14 April 17 07:56 BST (UK) »
My cousin has hit a brick wall so I wondered if someone could look up a James Alexander that's what he is on his birth certificate but on his marriage he goes under James Peter Alexander . He was born on the 10/9/1881 we think in London . This one is a real challenge we can't find any information not even on the census or military if anyone has the time she would be very grateful to know what he did in the WW1
Thanks
G

Hello,

You say you have birth and marriage details but not census or WW1 is that right?
Again, you mention his birth details but then do not seem to be sure of his birthplace.
It would be best to post all information known.

Is it just WW1 that you are looking for?

regards
heywood

1901 census?
Class: RG13; Piece: 248; Folio: 6; Page: 3
10 Public Terrace, Leather Lane, Libery of Saffron Hill, Holborn, London

Alexander, Annie  Head  Widow  F  50  Bookfolder  b Lomg Acre, London
Alexander, James  Son  M  19  Porter  b Holborn, London
Alexander, Alexander  Son  M  17  Porter  St Lukes, London

You can find James and Louisa on the 1911 census - Ancestry has James born in Leath?!
His actual birthplace is Leather Lane! :-\

I can't see a likely WW1 record but many records have not survived.

G

father was James Peter according to marriage certificate but if we have the right family in censuses he was just James.
Do you think that is the right family from your information?
