Hi in the 1939 register a John W Selby appears living at King EL street in Grimsby (could it be King Edward Street ?) as a retired fisherman age about 66 and he gives his DOB as 14 November 1873.
I have not seen the register but from what i have been told this is the information on it.

The information is correct. The original can be viewed on Find my Past

The full address on the 1928-31 records is 'back 220 King Edward Street'.
