You can order certificates on line from the General Record office at a charge of £7.00. See www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/. If your informant gave you a date of March 1859 it probably means they were married in the quarter January to March as this is how record offices work. Did they give you a page and volume number? If you look at the website you can order even if you do not know the page & volume number. Alternatively Truro have an email address cro[at]ceo.cornwall.gov.uk replace [at] with @

Hi.......

 There is a marriage in Truro 1859 of Richard Jose, but as you can see there are two groom's and only one bride, the two couples were married on the same day I should look at the marriage fiche for Caroline Brown on the March quarter of that year 1859.

Surname  First name(s)    District  Vol  Page

~~~~~~~~
Marriages Mar 1859
~~~~~~~~

Jose  Richard    Truro  5c 280
Verran  Thomas     Truro  5c 280
Youlton  Elizabeth Ann     Truro  5c 280
