I am a bit suprised that a family so aware of its aristocratic origin doesn't know more about the pedigree of their ancestor. Do you have a picture or a description of his coast of arms ?

I quickly checked in Pondichery from 1805 to 1816 and there is no child named Auguste Pierre Clément born there.

Does someone have a copy of his passeport ? Does the information come from the French Diplomatic Archives ?
