Ellen Leonard Death record
« on: Tuesday 18 April 17 18:11 BST (UK) »
Hi I have been trying to find some information on my Great Grandmother Ellen Leonard nee Collins in Arva Co Cavan.I think she may have been born in Co. Monaghan I found her on the 1911 census records living in Longford. I am trying to find a death record for her and wondered if you could help. I'm not sure when she died although I do know she was in her 40's. I think it may be around 1929. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also my Grandmother Mary Leonard may have been born around 1902 or 1903. Many thanks

Hello,
Here is your previous thread.
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=768626.

From that one, Ellen is in Longford Street, Arvagh, County Cavan. (people may search in County Longford, otherwise.)

That must be her as we could not find another Ellen Leonard before that date. My Mum thought she had a brain tumour. I wonder why it was a mental hospital though. Thanks so much for this information. Would there be any records for Thomas Leonard? I still can't seem to find a birth record for Mary Leonard (my grandmother.) . Is it possible to find baptism records? Many thanks

Just posted on other topic LINK

Also to note if Ellen had a brain tumour she may have been admitted to a sanatorium because of the changes to her behaviour. They were different times.  It is also possible that she had a reason for admittance to the hospital that was called "a brain tumour".

I've just posted on another thread re a possible sighting of Thomas in 1901.
It is confusing - there seem to be three threads on the go for different bits of the puzzle!

Perhaps the family were told she had a brain tumour to account for another illness affecting her-  maybe depression etc.

That would make sense. Thank you. I do apologise, I couldn't work my way around the forum and wasn't sure what I had already posted. I thank you for your patience 😀

No problem as long as you get the information and we don't fall over ourselves posting the same stuff. :)
