William Steele son of Patrick Steele born ab 1826 in Kilmore, Saintfield

I am trying to find more details on William Steele born in kilmore nr Saintfield County Down Ireland about 1826.

He was in the 44thfoot number 3134 his fathers name Patrick married Anne Allen in Aug. 1864.

William was a soldier at Colchester Camp as an officers servant and moved to Woolwich Garrison and was also at Aldershot about 1874.

Would like to find his birth/baptism details to find out who his mother was, or more details on his father Patrick, who is listed as deceased in 1864 on William's marriage cert.

Any suggestions, have tried looking everywhere and not finding anything

Hi Pansypetal,  are you aware a ‘Sarah ‘and a ‘Philip’ who are tree owners on www.GenesReunited.co.uk have details of your family. Phillip has a Patrick b1800 ireland, Sarah doesn’t,  but both have William and more recent entries I think to see or you have to join and then ask permission to view the tree. The same website has William in Essex Regiment   44th and also 56th Foot

I found a Still in the Flaxgrowers, wrong place but I went back to ros davies who also refers Still to her Steele subdatabase
