old black and white negatve of the family from Missouri

Can anyone convert an old negative into a photograph?  I'm attaching a couple just to see if it can be done this way.

Thanks for the effort.  The single woman has been hard for everyone.  I think it's  my mom hanging laundry in the 1940's.

It's a good idea to put a blank sheet of white paper over your negatives when scanning and scan in colour for best results...I thought she looked like she was hanging out sheets.
