Thanks for the info. I can't find records of their deaths but will keep searching for their death certificates.

You'll be lucky to find anything. Statutory registration of deaths didn't come into force in Scotland until 1855. Some parishes kept records of burials, but in my experience, the coverage is patchy and many records don't survive.

I have a copy of the Monumental Inscriptions (pre-1855) in Renfrewshire (1969).

Greenock Inverkip St. (formerly known as Duncan Street Burial Ground) Page 121
398 Chas Campbell .9.1852 80, w Mary Thomson 19.9.1844. da Mary 7.7.1884 74 (w of Archd McArthur 16.9.1844 34)

So Charles and Mary are buried together?

It looks like it.

Thanks for the info. I can't find records of their deaths but will keep searching for their death certificates.

As they both died prior to 1855 there won't be any death certificates

Thanks for the info. I'm fairly new to family history so it is useful to know all this! :-)
