Discharge document of Private Robert
« on: Wednesday 19 April 17 15:46 BST (UK) »
Hi. I have a discharge document belonging to one of my ancestors, and I'm having trouble deciphering the reason for his discharge, as set out in the third item - "Certificate of the cause of discharge". I've attached an image of the whole page, and I also isolated & imaged the handwritten text in question (with a bit of cleaning up).

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what this says.

Thanks in advance

Alan Stewart

Welcome to Rootschat Alan:
Good call Josie...I wondered if it was "L" meaning left Pulmonic...I also think the quick answer could be T.B.

Wow - that was quick! Robert was only in the Army for 14 years, at a time when I believe 21-23 years was the norm. It would make sense of the fact that he got a pension on discharge.

Thank you for this help
