Hi wonderful people of Roots, could i please ask you to assist me on finding out about my grandma Ada Warhurst (knee Wildsmith) she married my grandad Edwin Warhurst at Nottingham in 1920.

I am not sure if her name is correctly spelt or not.

Any help would be appreciated please.

Kind regards.

Do you have the marriage certificate for your grandma as that will give you her fathers name
This could be a possible birth Ada Wildsmith 1892 Basford Nottingham mother's maiden name Bowler
There is a marriage for a Harriet Bowler 1891 in  Derby  to a Sidney Wildsmith

This looks like the family in the 1901 census address 28,Napoleon Square Nottingham

Sydney Wildsmith age 37 occupation Gen Labourer  born Nottingham
Harriet Wildsmith age 35
Ada 9,Edith 7,Sidney 5,Elsie 3 all born Basford Nottingham

Using the basic search on the 1939 register on findmypast there is an Ada Warhurst living in the Nottingham CB. Her birth year is 1892. So looking for an Edwin Warhurst there is one in the Nottingham CB birth year 1890
This is using the basic search which is free to do.
