Robert Buchanan Master Mariner

This is an extremely long shot but here goes.
An old friend of mine in his 80's here in Glasgow called James Stevenson is wondering if his old pal Robert Buchanan from Glasgow , probably aged about 86 is still on the go. He emigrated to Australia with his family.
Last known whereabouts was Glasgow in 1958 when Robert Buchanan was studying in Glasgow for his Ship Masters Certificate of Competency.

Any information more than greatly appreciated.

Did he get his Master Mariners ticket.

I can only answer your third question . He passed his Masters Foreign Going Certificate in Glasgow in 1958. I shall have to get back to my friend to ascertain if he has any knowledge of the other two points.
