I am looking for any information on the Steel/Steele family

I have started to trace my family tree, My Great Grandfather John Steel and his wife Isabella moved from Neilston Renfrewshire to Barrow-in-Furness in about 1884, then to the West Midlands. Any information would be appreciated.

John Steel b.1856 Joiner & Builder
Isabella Steel b. 1858. (Both born in Scotland)
Thomas b.1880
George E b.1884
John b.1886
Jane C b.1890 (all scholars born in Barrow)
James E Hartley - visitor b.1884 Barrow (scholar)

In 1901 they're at 5 Little Poundrey Street, Wolverhampton:-
John & Isabella born 1855 & 1857 respectively.
Thomas & George E b. 1879 & 1883, both joiners & carpenters like Dad
John E (Transcribed as Emmanuel) B.1885 - tin warehouse boy
Jane G b.1889
Isabella E b.1892 Barrow

Incidentally, the 'E in John E & Isabella E is Evans (Isabella's maiden name)

I made an error on the 1891.

Thomas was born in Scotland, not Barrow.

Yes that's them, moved to Barrow-in Furness then Wolverhampton. Thanks TerriG, There is some new info there for me to work on.
I think John Steel's father and mother were Thomas Steel and Jean Gemmell, this would tie into my fathers middle name was Gemmell

By the way, I believe that the 'G' in Jane G is Gemmill (FreeBMD), so that would make sense.

Just found on familysearch.org:-

Margaret Renton Steel born in Govan on 9 Nov 1881, father John Steel, mother Isabella Evans Steel.
Baptised on 4 Dec 1881 at Govan-Dean Park.

Maybe she died, because there's no sign of her on the 1891 & 1901 with the rest of the family.

If you've got access to Ancestry, there's a tree (Steel Family Tree, hosted by CSteel52 who seems to be descended from John Gemmell Steel born 1855) which claims that Isabella snr's father & mother are George Evans & Margaret Renton.  If it's the right Isabella, she was born on 7 August 1857 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire.
