Eagling:  Elizabeth Eagling, age 62, died at her late residence, 916 East Exchange st., Jan. 25, of the grip.  Funeral Jan. 28, interment in East Akron cemetery.


From the Akron city directories, 916 East Exchange st was the home of William H Eagling.

Thank you for all your help.   Elizabeth was a colourful character appearing before magistrates in 1839 aged 17 for larceny, several illegitimate children follow and she seems to have settled down after marrying Randall Eagling, although her son Walter Benjamin Butters (hubbys Gt Gt Grandfather) managed to get himself into various scrapes and misdemeanours including a vitreous divorce case, especially considering that he is often referred to as blind and deaf.  I find the ancestors with a story or two to them are a lot more interesting (and quite often embarrassing) and that's the best thing about family history its amazing how far people travelled and the lives they lived.
