You might have to widen your search to the U.S.

Sister Catherine Elizabeth born 1878-

Looks like she married 1914 in California-

Possible? John Anderson born Jan.1881 Ireland with wife & 2 children in 1911- to Canada 1904?

Oh my goodness aghadowey! You've really changed my tree!
I though I had his sister and that she'd never left Ballyshannon! I had her as never married!
This really does look like them both.
Thank you for finding this information for me!

Hi polar bear,
I found the tree you were talking about and they are a branch of the Andersons who immigrated to Australia in the 1800's.
Another connection made through rootschat a few years ago, this is a wonderful site, it makes the world very small!

Looks like Kate and family came to Canada.

Ooooh! They are living next door to William and Nellie Anderson in the 1916 Canada census. They arrived in Canada in 1916. Correction added: Kate and family are actually in the same household as William and Nellie.

William Anderson 33 b Ireland
Nellie 33 b Ireland
Tomas 5 b Ireland
Robert 3 b Ireland
Rebecca 7 months b Manitoba
George Buchanan 35 b Ireland
Katie 38 b Ireland
Isabella 1 b USA

1921 Canada census...

St Boniface Manitoba 255 (?) Oak Ave

George H Buchanan 40 b Ireland
Catherine 42 b Ireland
Esabella 6 b USA
Mary 3 b Manitoba
Catheline 2 b Manitoba

The family appears to have gone back to the USA. In the 1940 census they are back in California, if I remember correctly. This census has Isabella b California and a 4th daughter Nellie 17 b Canada. This census should be available through familysearch.org, I think. They are living in San Francisco.

Here it is...

As an aside, you might check if your local public library subscribes to Ancestry Library Addition. This would give you access to the records but I don't think to the trees.

This is fantastic!
I met descendants of William and Nellie when they came to Ireland 3 years ago! Again we met through Rootschat.
They don't know this information and I can't wait to tell them!
Some members of their family are coming over next month and want to meet up, I only heard this news last night, which made me start trying to find a John again!
This confirms that Kate is the right person, so exciting!
This means that 3 out of the 4 Anderson children immigrated, no wonder it's been so hard trying to track them down.
I'm very grateful to you and aghadowey for all the information I've received tonight.
Thank you.

You are very welcome.

This looks like Kate's naturalization record....

And sadly, her death record....

Burials for George and Kate are available on findagrave.

Familysearch may have info about their children....I haven't looked.

My pleasure  :).

For completeness, I have added William and family to the 1916 census info I posted earlier for Kate and George.
