I think that OP's original request of when did Thomas & Rose die may have been solved but only death certificates would confirm.

because the family had moved back to the area

1939 register will confirm Roses marital state, make sure you see the original as transcripts are often misleading

they were all together in 1901 living in wootton under edge as George grimes was 13 years old.  Thomas 32 rose ellen 33

do I have to wait to to 2021 to find out more.

Have you looked for them in 1911 and 1939

note from 1901 census that George Grimes was 13, in 1911 he was in Portsmouth   training,    went to war for our country and died 9 9 1916.

I am not sure about the 1939 register as I am still learning about family history and what you can find out etc.  is it like the Kellys directories

1939 register was a register compiled for WW2 purposes of all civilians. It gives address, names, dates of birth & occupations of all residents. You cannot view details of anyone who is till living on it, they are blacked out.

It is only available on FindMyPast and I am afraid we are not allowed to do lookups from it.  You can manipulate the free search though
