Chester

Has anyone heard of Wilcoxon Point. I found reference to it on NLW journals. Journal of the Chester Archaeological and Historic Society 1907. Article about the navigation of the Dee mentions Wilcoxons point , opposite the gas works.
Also mentioned in History of the City of Chester. as Wilcox point, and Wilcoxon point, located near the ship building yard, opposite the old lime kiln which formerly stood on the Roodee.
In 1809. Ralph Wilcoxon was appointed Land Waiter in the Port of Chester. Chester Courant.
In 1813 I have Ralph Wilcoxon Custom House Officer. Recorded in baptism register for his daughter .
I have looked on maps , but there is nothing named. Can anyone help locate it, I doubt if it`s named but you never know !

It is probably the land shown on this 1875 Town Plan https://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html#/Map/339775/366089/13/100096
Apparently the River Dee was to be kept navigable, by a 1722 Act of Parliament from the sea to Wilcox Point

I can`t view the map, but I found this.
I`m struggling to find where it is, it still seems to be called Wilcox point.

I`m wondering now if it was named after Ralph Wilcoxon ? Is that were the Customs house was ?

I can`t view the map,

Click on the link I gave, you will have to reduce the zoom level to see the map using the - in the top left corner. Wilcox Point is the area of land from the gas works to where the railway crosses the River Dee, and between the railway and the river.
From the Cheshire Observer - Saturday 16 March 1878

I found an old map showing the lime kiln, which should give a rough indication of the location, but it isn't named.

There is a description of the Roodee side here - http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/CHESHIRE/1999-03/0922634845

Thanks, I`ve managed to locate it now.

In the same newspaper article in 1878 I found this, and  now I`m puzzled.
It says Wilcox Point had  a great historical name attached to it .

This book is dated 1765. I did have Wilcoxon `s in Cheshire before then, but don`t think it`s connected to them. It seems Wilcox is the correct name and  the "Wilcoxon`s Point" was a mistake.
