Thanks, Lizzie

That invariably turns into a one-name study and then a whole parish study for me. Seems like you have to become the world's foremost authority on Keston or wherever to make any progress

Right, off to Bromley to gather up all the Belfields and Whiffins I can find
Middlesex: KING,  MUMFORD, COOK, ROUSE, GOODALL, BROWN
Oxford: MATTHEWS, MOSS
Kent: SPOONER, THOMAS, KILLICK, COLLINS
Cambs: PRIGG, LEACH
Hants: FOSTER
Montgomery: BREES
Surrey: REEVE

William and Anne Collins children baptisms
Thomas 10 November 1782 Enfield

Possible breakhrough?
There's a baptism in Edmonton, 18 August 1811, of
Thomas Mead Collins
parents Thomas + Sophia

He seems to have married Hannah Slim, 2 January 1842, at St Andrew Holborn

1841 census of Edmonton has the likely parents
piece 652 book 6 folio 5 page 4
Duck Lane
Thomas Collins 55 Coal dealer
Sophia Collins 55
Ann Collins 20
Ellen Collins 15
Louisa Collins 15
All were born in Middlesex, except Sophia
Remember that ages were rounded down to the nearest five years in 1841

1851
piece 1703 folio 185 page 7
Church St, Edmonton
Thomas Collins Head 68 Coal Dealer Middlesex Enfield
Sophia Collins Wife 69 Hants Neatham
Sophia Collins Daur 38 Middlesex Edmonton

If Ann Mead or William Collins were from Elstree, some bad news of the Elstree parish register
After one baptism in 1744, it says
No further entries, till June 10th 1753
The following Scraps of Paper, being the sole
vestiges of a Register of Baptisms
from Jany 1744 to Decr 1758
were pasted? into this book, Decr 1826
by me, W. J. Hadow, Clerk
They contain an unbroken series
from June 10th 1753 to July 10th 1757

There are Bishop's Transcripts, but I'm not sure that they are online.

How do you know she was born abt 1575? The image of the marriage record is on Ancestry. It only has the names and dates of couple, no indication of their ages.
Looking at Hodge baptisms at St Andrews Enfield around that date, there is no Beant / Benit or similar. most only give child's name, not even father's name.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

Hi.

Thanks very much for that. The date is shown on IGI.

Cheers,

Gary.

I have found quite a lot of marriage records on IGI which make the assumption the bride is 21 and the groom 25 at marriage, without any substantiating evidence.
